As we complete another Women’s History month telling Mollie’s story, I am touched by all of the comments and stories that I have heard along the way.\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone seems\u00a0to have a link to WWII.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A woman in Yorkville talked about wanting her 14 year old granddaughter to learn about\u00a0the history of the WACs in WWII.\u00a0 It was so neat to meet\u00a0a woman who was a WAC in Frankfurt, Germany in the 1950’s.\u00a0 I enjoyed hearing from the men who served in WWII–and seeing the replica of\u00a0a plane that one of the men flew.\u00a0\u00a0Just yesterday at the Railroad Retirement Board Workplace Diversity committee program for Women’s History month, a woman told me the story of her mother’s service as a WAAC (a year before my mother)\u00a0stationed in some of the places where my mother was stationed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0We traveled the state from Palatine to Mattoon and lots of places in between!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
